9-10 November 2007
Hanover, Germany

LAND TECHNIK

and Food Production

Foreword

On November 9 and 10, 2007, the VDI will hold its 65th agricultural engineering conference in Hanover as an international conference titled LAND.TECHNIK – AgEng 2007. The mere title promises changes. The well-known conference which takes place, every other year, as the prelude event to the AGRITECHNICA, the most important agricultural machinery fair worldwide, will thus be able to pursue its international ambitions even better.

For the time being “on probation”, the conference is now being prepared by a programme committee that is composed of members of the Max-Eyth-Society for Agricultural Engineering of the VDI (VDI-MEG) and the European Society of Agricultural Engineers (EurAgEng). As before, the VDI Wissensforum IWB GmbH will organise the event. Probably the most significant novelty is that English will be the general conference language. All agricultural engineering businesses as well as the universities being “global players”, this changeover should not prove a lasting hindrance. On the contrary, it should be beneficial to the process of internationalisation at the engineers’ level.

The increase in attendance over recent years shows that alternating the venue, ie Hanover in the years where the AGRITECHNICA fair takes place, and a university town in the years in between, has been well accepted by the community. The conference is addressed to engineers working in industry, research and at universities. It is also intended for agricultural engineers in consultancy and practice who are interested in new technical concepts, processes, products, engineering work methods and, last but not least, the exchange of experience.

Under the motto “Engineering Solutions for Energy and Food Production”, the conference will deal with recent developments in the main technical topics listed, which were deliberately chosen to be closely connected to the main topics of the AGRITECHNICA. The programme committee hereby invites you to submit your papers.

The LAND.TECHNIK – AgEng 2007 conference is the further development of a successful concept. We are eagerly awaiting the interest stimulated by this international conference, and looking forward to attendants’ feedback. Be there and take your chances as a member of the engineering community!

Technical Chair

The Technical Chair of the Conference will be Max Eyth Society for Agricultural Engineering of the VDI in cooperation with EurAgEng and AGRITECHNICA. The Conference is being organised by VDI Wissensforum IWB GmbH.
